From the beginning of August until this afternoon, our teachers and other staff have been FullSizeRender2 hard at work training and preparing for the upcoming program year. The trainers reminded us that not all superheroes wear capes: Some work at Head Start! While that particular training was for EHS teaching staff, here at Child Inc., we think it applies to any- and everyone that works for Head Start.

The staff members you will interact with most are the teachers, teacher aides, and home visitors, who are indeed superheroes!  But it doesn’t start there; it starts at home! You, the parents and caregivers, are superheroes for wanting to give your child a head start!

Once you walk through our doors, it starts with the application process. ERSEA staff, who you may have met, review all applications and documentation. This hard-working team helps determine the best placement for your child. Medical and dental information is reviewed by health staff to help children stay up-to-date on well-child checks, dental care, and immunization. The nutrition department reviews food requests and allergies to make sure children will be fed well and safely. Mental health and disabilities departments help identify needs and provide additional support needed in those areas. PFCE and family advocates help with family needs and help support and encourage parents’ roles in their children’s education and development.

Behind the scenes, and behind those superhero masks, there are Center Managers, Facilities, IT, Human Resources, Fiscal, Quality Assurance and office staff help make sure our classrooms, home visitors, and family support staff have the support they need.

This whole team is overseen by our Executive Director, our Head Start Director, and our Board of Directors!

When you enroll your children in Child Inc. Head Start, you and your family are a part of their team, and you have a whole team of superheroes to soar along side you and your child; after all, Head Start is more than day care!  It is Child Development. And good child development takes a whole team!
