Poster with MLK quote: I have the audacity to belive that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits.

Child Inc. is honoring the contribution of African Americans in the arts, sciences, education, philosophy, literature, and across the board in celebration of Black History Month. The Black History Month Committee has shared a daily reading on the history of African American Education,  and has planned  a soul-food tasting, a presentation on The Crisis in Black Education and other activities throughout the month. Andrena Sherman, Family Advocate at our Allen center, has been sending a daily Black History fact ranging from philosophers, teachers, and activists to information on historic Black Institutions. We hope to share additional highlights from our other centers throughout the month.
