Child Inc. will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2017 to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a day set aside to honor the life and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; his advancement of civil rights, promotion of non-violent civil action, celebration of diversity, and recognition that we are one people.
Many Americans celebrate his life and work by dedicating the holiday to service and volunteering to help those less fortunate than themselves. Many honor him by reaching out across cultural lines to learn about, meet, and celebrate people from different backgrounds than themselves, to discover that our similarities are greater than our differences, and our differences are worth recognizing and honoring. Others spend the day promoting, advocating for, and teaching non-violent action for social change. However you choose to celebrate on Monday, Child Inc. wishes you a fulfilling and safe holiday.
Centers and offices resume regular hours on Tuesday, January 17.
