Child Inc, Head Start provider serving Travis County for over five decades, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mr. Albert L. Black, M.Ed., as the President of the Region VI Head Start Association Board. With a wealth of experience in executive and policy roles, Mr. Black has consistently delivered positive impacts on the lives of children at both state and local levels. Boasting over four decades of experience, including serving as a school principal, Program Director for TEA, and over 20 years with Child Inc, Mr. Black brings a deep understanding of the educational landscape. With his unwavering guidance, Child Inc has realized significant enhancements in performance metrics, provided ongoing professional development opportunities for staff, and cultivated strategic alliances with neighboring school districts, local enterprises, and nonprofit entities, all aimed at delivering resources to Head Start children and families.
Under Mr. Black’s leadership, Child Inc Head Start has implemented innovative programs and achieved significant milestones in improving the lives of vulnerable children and families. His extensive experience in program management, advocacy, and collaboration will undoubtedly benefit the Region VI Head Start Association Board and the Head Start programs served by Region VI. “I am honored and excited to serve as the President of the Region VI Head Start Association Board,” said Mr. Black. “I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across the region to advocate for high-quality early childhood education, promote equity and inclusivity, and support the needs of children and families in our communities.” As President of the Region VI Head Start Association Board, Mr. Black will play a pivotal role in shaping policies, sharing best practices, and advancing the collective interests of Head Start programs across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. His leadership will help strengthen partnerships, foster collaboration, and drive positive change within the early childhood education sector.
