Ribbon Cutting to Launch the FCR!
This November, Child Inc proudly opened the doors to our new Family Resource Center (FRC) — a welcoming space created to provide added support to the families we serve. The center stands as a reflection of our Head Start values: community, empowerment, and care for the whole family.
The Family Resource Center is thoughtfully stocked with gently used toys, clothing for children and adults, books, household items, hygiene products, and a food pantry. These resources are available to Head Start families who may need a little extra help as they navigate the many demands of parenthood and daily life.
This project came to life through the dedication and hard work of our Family Advocates, who sorted donations, organized the space, and made sure the center was ready to serve. Their commitment to helping families thrive is evident in every detail.
Child Inc is also deeply grateful to the Top Ladies of Distinction, Capital City Chapter, whose volunteers are helping staff the space. Their support ensures families are welcomed with kindness and dignity each time they visit.
Empowering Families Through Technology
Adjoining the Family Resource Center is our new Tech Lab, equipped with computers and printers for families to use on-site. The Tech Lab is designed to give parents and caregivers access to the digital tools they need for success — whether that’s:

Completing job applications or building résumés

Accessing online parent resources and educational opportunities

Managing household and health-related documents

Supporting their children’s learning through interactive Head Start and community programs
In today’s world, digital access is essential. Many of our families have limited access to reliable technology at home, and the Tech Lab bridges that gap by providing a safe, supportive environment where they can gain confidence using these tools.
A Community Effort — and a Call to Action
The Family Resource Center and Tech Lab are more than rooms filled with items or computers; they represent the strength of our Head Start community. When families, staff, and partners come together, amazing things happen.
