Child Inc will be closed to children and families from Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1 for our annual All Staff In-Service Training Week. During this time, all 11 of our centers will pause services to focus on professional development and continuing education for our Head Start and Early Head Start team members.
Why Close for a Full Week?
Each year, we dedicate this time to making sure our entire team—teachers, family advocates, health and nutrition staff, administrators, and leaders—receive the training and support they need to prepare for a successful school year. This investment in continuing education is a key part of the Head Start model and helps us provide the highest quality care and education for your children.
What is Head Start Continuing Education?
Head Start is more than just early childhood education. It’s a comprehensive program that supports children’s growth in all areas—learning, health, nutrition, emotional development, and family stability. To do that well, our staff must stay up to date on:
-
Child development and school readiness
-
Social-emotional learning and trauma-informed care
-
Inclusive practices for children with disabilities or developmental delays
-
Health, safety, and wellness standards
-
Effective family engagement and community partnerships
Throughout the in-service week, our staff will participate in hands-on workshops, planning sessions, certification trainings, and team-building activities. These efforts ensure that every classroom across our 11 centers, home based and school districts are ready to provide safe, supportive, and engaging learning environments for your child.
What This Means for Families
We understand that any interruption in care can be challenging, and we thank you for your patience and understanding. This in-service week allows us to align, strengthen our practices, and come back even more prepared to serve your child and family.
Child Inc will reopen on Monday, August 4, refreshed and ready to begin another year of joyful learning, growth, and discovery.
