Years of Service
1972 to 2026
Head Start is a federal program designed to promote school readiness by supporting the social, cognitive, and overall development of children from six weeks to age five. Our Early Head Start and Head Start program offer comprehensive early education, health, nutrition, and family services through center-based and home-based models, collaborative classrooms in area Independent School Districts, as well as Early Head Start–Child Care Partnerships.
For more than 50 years, we’ve walked alongside families facing economic barriers, helping children build the confidence, skills, and strong foundations they need for kindergarten and beyond. Our whole-child approach ensures that every child— including those with disabilities, learning delays, or mental health needs—receives high-quality early learning and the support necessary to thrive. Over five decades, more than 50,000 children and families have grown with us, leaving a lasting impact on our community.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors and Policy Council provide essential governance for Child Inc, offering strategic oversight and informed guidance to ensure our programs remain effective, compliant, and centered on the needs of the community. By combining professional expertise with family perspectives, they help shape policies, set priorities, and strengthen the quality of services we provide to children and families.

What Our Parents are Saying
“I am writing this letter to let you know my family’s experience with the Forbes school has been absolutely wonderful. So we wanted to say thank you to Child Inc., the staff and teachers, and especially Mrs. Fowler for everything that y’all have done to help teach, educate and love my child.
Firstly, we appreciate the structure and orderliness of the school. Because the rules and schedules are followed, we know that my child is safe especially when it comes to COVID, washing hands, sick children rules, etc.. that is very comforting for my family’s peace of mind.
Secondly, the teaching curriculum seems to be smart, efficient and well thought out. We are a Vietnamese household. My child spoke almost no English upon attending Forbes. But now, it seems like he can’t stop speaking English! But not only that, he is not just speaking basic English, but having smart conversations and a range of replies. (Perhaps too smart)
Thirdly, the teachers and staff have been absolutely kind, welcoming and caring for not just my child but also for parents. Everyone is polite, kind and helpful in all of the school matters. Teachers Ms. Denita and Ms. Shala have to be the reason my son is excelling well. So we also want to say thank you to them tremendously for taking care of my child as well as even raising him for the short period of time as their own family. We absolutely love them and appreciate everything they do for Harvey.
Before Forbes, my child actually did not like going to school. Everyday was a fight to convince him to go to school. But after Forbes, he asks if he can go to school even on the weekends (especially before bed). That tells me that feels like he is in a place where he learns, challenged to grow, has a safe learning environment, good Teachers and most importantly, loved.
Lastly, the best part of Forbes is Mrs. Fowler. My child absolutely loves Mrs. Fowler. They are like best friends! We can really tell she loves her school, her work, her children, her staff and it really shows. It shows in the way that everything and everyone is handling their part in the organization. It shows in how well my child is performing at school and loves to come back. And it shows on how well we’ve been treated throughout our time at the school. She really does put the Fabulous in Forbes! So we love her and thank her.
We just want to show our gratitude by writing this letter to let you know that Forbes is for the best.
Thank you from,
Harvey V…. parents and family”
Gracias!!!!!”
