Child Inc Head start
Parent Engagement
Parent Family & Community Engagement
Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) creates meaningful opportunities for families to build strong relationships, increase their confidence, and strengthen the skills that lead to long‑term self‑sufficiency. Our vision for family engagement is a two‑generation approach that empowers parents as capable leaders in their own growth and their child’s early development and learning.
Family Advocates partner with families to identify their strengths, set personal and family goals, and take intentional steps toward achieving them. Families are recognized as equal partners in their children’s learning, and advocates serve as connectors—linking parents to community resources, educational opportunities, and supports that help them meet basic needs and move toward greater stability and independence.
To strengthen parents in their role as their child’s first and most influential teacher, Child Inc’s PFCE team works to involve families in every area of our Early Head Start and Head Start programs. Parent involvement opportunities are designed to help families build leadership skills, grow their voice, and confidently engage with community systems that impact their lives.
Additionally, Child Inc supports families in developing and implementing a parent education plan that promotes personal growth and self‑reliance.

Support for Head Start Families
We recognize that children succeed when their families have the resources, stability, and support they need. Our Family Support services are designed to partner with parents and caregivers, helping them create a secure, nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Through our Head Start program, we connect families with dedicated Family Advocates who work closely with them to understand their unique challenges and goals. Our Family Advocates work directly in our child development centers, school partnerships, or make home visits, ensuring families have easy access to support services. We assist with a range of needs, such as access to housing, employment, health care, mental wellness, parenting resources, continuing education and emergency assistance. We also link families with community services that offer ongoing support.
Our support is voluntary and tailored to each family’s circumstances, respecting their choices and culture. We are here to empower families with the resources and connections they need to build a stable foundation for their children’s growth and success.
Confidentiality is a core principle of our services, and families can trust that their interactions with Child Inc are handled with care and respect. With the right support, every family can be equipped to nurture their child’s potential and provide a brighter future.
