Child Inc is proud to have been selected as a community partner with the Charles Edward Blake Initiative Tablet Giveaway Initiative.  Eligible Child Inc families can meet with their Center Family Advocate for the application and assistance with completion.

The first round of 50 tablets were distributed to Child Inc families this month.   This program also provides a SIMS card with five years of free Internet. Many families served by Child Inc have little to no access to computers or tablets.  This program funded by the Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC program that helps connect families and households struggling to afford Internet service providing this service for free.  Households are eligible if they participate in criteria required to receive PELL grants, Public Housing, SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, WIC and many more.

We encourage our Head Start families to apply for this program and participate in the many at home appropriate online early development activities available.  At home parental involvement helps to reinforce early learning activities provided during classroom activities.
